The first ever Porthtowan Local Ocean Film Festival

St Agnes Marine Conservation Group are thrilled to present this incredible array of local films, showcasing the wide range of ways that people love and connect with our seas. Ranging from films about discovering the power of kelp to regenerate our coasts, to inspiring films about the link between mental health and sea swimming; you are likely to be amazed by the marine life on your doorstep and energised to protect it. It promises to be a fantastic day of beautiful short films, including Q&A sessions and a chance to meet some of the filmmakers. Fantastic local vegan food is available at dinner time and the bar will be open throughout the festival.

And many more!

St Agnes Marine Conservation Group hosts the first ever Porthtowan Local Ocean Film Festival.

Films will highlight our amazing local marine environment and all the many ways that people connect with our oceans. The festival celebrates the power of film to inspire, educate, and motivate audiences to protect and preserve our environment.

We welcome submissions on any topic linked to the seas in south west England. Films showcasing diverse backgrounds or using Cornish language are particularly sought.

It will take place close to the beach on a big screen in the village hall with a live audience. It runs from Saturday morning through to the evening with a bar and catering available on site.

The event will be compered by St Agnes Marine Conservation Group and we would like as many filmmakers as possible to introduce their own films in person. There will be opportunities to join Q&A panels.

This event is an chance to reach a friendly and interested local audience and we are very happy to receive submissions from students.
